The local Mandalay pastors warned us that the young people wouldn’t come – 5,000 showed up! After nearly 60 years of oppressive military rule I guess it’s hard for the old generation to be optimistic. When God does a new thing, the old guys can choose to die in the wilderness or get on board with these same young people who will build a new culture and national purpose. (here Becky leads the crowd in praise)
In our other news for Myanmar (Burma):
-Our very own John Albert is about to open his new Bible college near the capital city of Yangon.
-We presently have six students from Myanmar training in VABC Thailand.
-Tom & Elizabeth Schumacher are progressing wonderfully on their children’s home/Bible college project just inside the Burma border at northern Thailand.
God has big things in store for Myanmar, and we are so happy to be a part of it.
Thanks for your great big heart for the new generations of Asia!
