Dave & Terry Wharf took over the El Shaddai 2 Children’s Home 20 years ago; parenting 20 beautiful Thai children, 12 boys and 8 girls.

succeeded without you, our partners! We truly want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your perseverance & commitment in prayer, finances and even some visits to our home. What an honor it has been to do life with you.)
Where we are now??… Dave & I(Terry) now live in Edmonton, Alberta and we visit our kids yearly. We were able to visit Thailand in January, February, March, October & November 2025 to spend the time with the kids and various ministries. We have incredible times with the them in between them attending school and working. They are busy but every day we were able to get together with some of them.
Our youngest child, Matthew, now 21 years old, graduated grade 12; finishing with top grades in Logistics and a Gold Medal for the highest score in English. We are so pleased that he stayed strong all the way to the end, especially
when we have been in Canada the last 4 years.. (Hannah & Ruth, our older girls, cared for Matthew while we were away and they were great lil’ mommies.) He is continuing his studies working towards a degree in Logistics (4 years). Please keep him in your prayers. We are in contact with all the kids and are so thankful for good internet connections.
All that being said, we no longer have a ‘El 2 Children’s Home’ in Thailand. All the kids are adults, they have graduated and moved into the workforce, ministry or continuing education. They will always be our kids, as well as yours and they love their large family, as we love them.
One of the biggest questions we get asked by businesses is – ‘Do you have more children that we could hire?’ Our kids are leaps and bounds above many of their Thai friends in work ethics. We taught them how to think and plan ahead, plus they have very good English skills. And they all have a new hope, His name is Jesus. They have His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. We love hearing their stories of helping others in need, being willing to serve, and care for others. We love the times together, playing games, singing and just hanging out.
